I usually enjoy reading annotated literary work.I DO NOT recommend this one, by Ma. Teresa Pérez. It has errors in the meanings annotated for various words. I have the 4th. edition.
I am surprised that the publishing company has not corrected them, after four editions! It is clear that Ms. Pérez has a poor grasp of the "peruanisms" and the pub. co. did not even bother to have a more qualified person review the annotations. It has been really annoying looking at the annotations, expecting
some extra useful information, but not, just very upsetting. For example, pág. 178, Ayacucho is to the southeast of Lima (the book says north). Another error, jalar is the opposite of empujar, not a synonym. Some of the interpretations are so off... And so on...
Go get the Alfaguara version, or some other pub. co.'s.
